Featuring panel discussion on important issues from interantional trade and investment to low carbon initiatives, the dialogue aims to provide an in-depth discussion and examination of China’s market dynamics and policy implications to build a green and sustainable future. The Conference was held at the World Meteorological Organization(WMO) in Geneva.
China, Trade and Climate Change

The 2008 Dialogue focused on China’s contribution to the economic architecture of a global agreement on climate change. As part of the process towards the 15th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, China is at the centre of a range of concerns related to trade and climate change negotiations, particularly with respect to the distribution of economic costs and gains from climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Opportunities and challenges for sustainable development

This one and a half day meeting brought together high level policymakers, researchers and opinion leaders as well as trade negotiators from China, its Asian neighbors, Africa, Latin America, the United States and Europe. The dialogue concluded with a panel discussion on the role of China in the global governance of trade.
